The GS 430's
innovative VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated
Management) integrates operation of systems such
as the TRC (Traction Control System), VSC
(Vehicle Stability Control) and ABS (Anti-lock
Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force
Distribution) which normally operate
independently.
In addition, it consolidates control of the EPS
and VGRS system (Electronic Power Steering and
Variable Gear Ratio System) responsible for the
turning angle of the front wheels and steering
torque.
As a result VDIM helps to optimise the driving
performance of the vehicle's basic operations -
accelerating, cornering and braking. While
conventional systems only start to control these
operations near the limit of the vehicle's
capabilities, VDIM activates before the limit is
reached, realising smooth vehicle movement: it
contributes to driving emotion by providing
peace of mind and driving pleasure. More
specifically, VDIM helps to provide excellent
driving stability during sudden braking or
acceleration on roads where and inconsistent
surface causes the left or right tyres to
experience slip, or when the front or rear
wheels have a tendency to skid.
