THE EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE DEMANDED OF A NEXT –GENERATION LUXURY CAR

In addition to its ability to make efficient use of its gasoline engine and electric motor by taking advantages of the respective strengths of each, the LS600hl uses a function-unique to hybrids-known as "regeneration" to convert kinetic energy during deceleration and braking into electric

Energy for charging the battery, giving it fuel economy more typically associated with a 3.0-litre engine. The CO2 (Carbon dioxide) emissions are also low. Thanks to the use of newly developed hexagonal-cell catalysts and meticulous control of the exhaust system, the LS600hl limits emissions to extremely low, class – leading levels.

Our responsibility to the future

Lexus is committed to taking a thoughtful look at the future of people ,

Society and the earth, and offering stare-of-the-art technologies such as hybrid power trains in response. Not content to simply develop technologies

To reduce fuel use and exhaust emissions, Lexus uses an environmental performance assessment system knows as "the Eco-Vehicle Assessment System" as part of an effort to reduce the environmental burned of products at every stage of their life cycles, from production to use and disposal, Emissions such as CO2 (Carbon dioxide) and NOx (Nitrogen oxides) have been reduced thanks to the implementation of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) that evaluates the environmental burden of products at the every stage. This approach has also driven across-the-board refinements in fuel economy, exhaust emissions, recycling, and the use of environmentally harmful substances.

REDUCING CO2 EMISSIONS

In addition to conserving fuel, enhancement in fuel economy contribute to reducing emissions of the greenhouse gas CO2. Engine systems  like

VVT-iE and D-4S that enhance combustion efficiency, power train innovations such as the hybrid system, and an aerodynamic body that helps to reduce air resistance, come together to give the LS600hl exceptional fuel economy that meets very high standards around the world for vehicles in the same displacement class.

CLEANER EXHAUST MISSIONS

Based on a belief that is critical to reduce the generation of exhaust emissions itself, engineers equipped the engine with system designed to ensure efficient combustion of fuel, including VVT-iE and a device that refines the air-fuel ratio. They also added a two-stage, three-way catalyst that simultaneously reduces pollutants such as NOx and NMHC (Non-methane hydrocarbons) in the exhaust gases. The harmful substances, from engine start to acceleration as speed.

PROMOTING RECYCLING

In anticipation of realizing a sustainable recycling-based society, Lexus has created a recycling vision consisting of goals such as "the early achievement of the recycling rate goal of 95% in 2015". To achieve these goals, Lexus is working to encourage the recycling and reuse of resources

Wherever possible throughout the vehicle's life cycle, from development to disposal

CUTTING BACK ON ENVIRONMENTALLY HARMFUL SUBSTANCES

Lexus has significantly reduced the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hex valiant chromium, and vinyl chloride.
