The engine is designed to deliver
optimal performance under a broad range
of driving conditions. Thanks to a wide
torque band that develops 90% of maximum
torque at just 2200rpm, it is able to
deliver unprecedented power in the low-
and mid-speed ranges that are typical in
off-road driving, as well as sustained
acceleration right to the top of the
high-speed range during on-road driving.
In addition, advanced technologies such
as Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing -
intelligent) enhance combustion
efficiency while boosting air intake and
exhaust efficiency. Despite its
5.7-litre displacement, the engine
nearly achieves the fuel economy of a
4.0-litre engine. Aggressive efforts to
limit friction loss have resulted in
silky-smooth engine operation and
